I definitely had some contractions yesterday. I was able to eat, sleep and move around as usual (which is limited but normal for nearly 36 weeks pregnant). I definitely felt tightening and a little bit of lower abdominal cramping but nothing I'd call painful.
When I was pregnant with my first daughter I had the same feeling and had NO idea I was in labor but progressed rather quickly. My contractions began 5 minutes apart, lasting about 1 minute each and after about an hour, they were already 3 minutes apart and lasted 1+ minutes. These must be Braxton Hicks because they haven't gone anywhere yet.
I sometimes wonder if I'll even know I'm in labor with this baby. My labor and birth were so easy for me and barely painful. I rarely even call it pain. It was just like medium-strength menstrual cramps. I was VERY lucky! I can only hope that I'm that lucky (or luckier!) this time. While I'm not getting my hopes up, I wish to be one of the lucky ones whose second labor is faster and easier than their first.
13 years ago tomorrow, I gave birth to a 7lb 15oz baby girl after just 5 hours and 4 minutes of total labor. THAT is an achievement and one of my happiest days!
I think this baby is trying to come on Maya's birthday but it's not going to happen, sorry.
