Citrus Lane Review-November 2013

It's FINALLY HERE! It's late, yes, but let's be honest... who can REALLY review anything they've JUST opened yesterday and barely even used. This will be real and raw. Truth. OK, here we go! First up is the Boon Clutch Dishwasher Basket-Valued at $11.99 (Can not easily find Orange/White Color Combo online)
I've used this three times in our older but not bad dishwasher. Right off the bat, I found that this baby holds a LOT of stuff. That is good and bad. Good because I need it to hold a lot and bad because I find myself rinsing everything off after the wash to be sure the dishwasher detergent is completely gone from every crevice. While this design is modern, trendy, functional and fun, I still feel like I don't trust it. More like I don't trust that every piece I put in there is getting enough rotation to properly clean and rinse it. I am going to try a super hot water and dish soap soak and maybe light outer scrub and then a rinse with this in the sink. I think it contains all the pieces VERY nicely and allows them to get clean but might work best in a brand new dishwasher. Up next, we have Pur Lisse Lip Comfort Lip Balm-Valued at $16.00 but found on amazon.com for as low as $7.00
This lip balm is really great. I wish I could stop there but since I've used it nearly every day since I received it, I'll also say that it does what it says, if I wanted to spend $7.00-$16.00 on lip balm I would choose this stuff. The consistency is just thick enough to melt on your lips and go on smooth. It lasts like a normal balm. You know, the more you rub you lips together to check if they've gotten any softer, the more you rub it in and the faster is disappears. That's life with lip balm really. Nothing too spectacular. The amount you get (0.5oz) is a significant amount considering how little you use per application (about the size of 1/4 of a pea, possibly even less). I doubt I'll repurchase this because I like to try something new every time but if someone were looking for a good product to repurchase, I'd say find this cheap online and buy it". Now... FINALLY! Something for the baby! The Green Toys Twist Teether-Valued at $10.99 (on their website)
Personally I REALLY love this toy! I love the way it clanks, the shape, the fact that it's 100% from food-safe plastic milk containers, that it came in a recycled cardboard box. I could go on and on and on but the fact is... 1 out of 10 times I hand this to my baby, she doesn't want it. What the hell!? I don't know why. I've tried shaking it, NOT shaking it. Handing it to her with a toy she likes less, a toy she likes more... nothin. It just isn't her favorite like it's MY favorite. She doesn't understand that the eco side of me wants her to love it so badly! Maybe she will come to love it. For now, I love it. Baby does not. Now something for both of us. Mostly me. Do we see a trend? The Bumkins Super Bib-Valued at $6.95
We got this exact bib and I love it! The print is one of the few really girly things we have for Nyla and it functions beautifully. The material is a soft, flexible, almost non-waterproof feeling, waterproof material. It's got a pocket to trap food in. It can be wiped down to re-use again if it's not too dirty. It washes very nicely with her regular clothes in the washer and doesn't really require special handling. It folds up TINY for easy travel and best of all, it's large. Not like TOO large but it covers the front of the shoulders and down to the top of her pants at least. Sure, she's only 6 months old but it WILL grow with her. The velcro closure is fully adjustable and I can see her using this bib as long as she needs a bib. I can also see it being our favorite go-to bib for now. All in all, I'd say it was a good box for MOM, not so much for baby. Yes, all but one of the products are technically FOR baby, but she doesn't care about a bib or a dishwasher basket unless I let her play with them, and I'm not. I got my December 2013 box and I think I'm going to cancel for a while and see if I miss it. I would really like to go with a cloth diaper subscription box for a bit and see how I like THAT. Since we cloth diaper, I might find my money is better spent there. I'll let you know...
