Things We Have... and Don't.

When it comes down to it, we're this close to having baby girl's room complete. Here is a little list of what we have that we want and what we don't.

We don't have a dresser but we'll have it this Friday.

We don't have a crib but that should be here on Thursday.

We still don't have a crib mattress, either and THAT will be here on March 5th.

 

What we DO have now is a lamp. We also have an accent table. The lamp will go on the dresser and the accent table next to the large, comfy chair we are getting from Joe's parents. It is SO COMFY. It's like a greige leather overstuffed chair. I have to say that it really doesn't match the other furniture BUT with the magic of a throw pillow (which we already have) and a super soft and lightweight throw blanket slung over the back/side of the chair, it will fit right in. The nursery is coming together so nicely and we cant wait for it to be a functional room for our new baby girl.

And here is our accent table.

The lamp is a smoke gray acrylic with a white rectangular shade. We got both the lamp ($21.99) and the table ($49.99) at Target. I was looking for a table that was a bit cheaper ($30.00-40.00?) but I have had virtually NO luck with accent tables. They're always low and square or round but nothing special. This one struck me as a tiny bit more interesting with it's long long legs and scalloped tabletop. Also, it's the perfect size to use functionally without accumulating too much junk on it. In my head, this goes beside the big chair and has something very colorful on it. Right now, I'm thinking that will be some faux yellow roses in a nice clear vase that we already have but I'd like to repurpose.

As soon as things start being put together and are in their places I will take pics and post them up. Our theme is an eclectic blend of black and very colorful (think sugar skulls and see examples below). Our crib, dresser and chair are all pretty neutral, allowing for change at a later date if we want. All the furniture is very versatile in style and color but the accent pieces are very fun and colorful.

This is a good representation of the colors we're using for decor.

I took some individual pics of the items we purchased last week but they just aren't that great of quality so I might try to get some new ones so I can share. That will be later this week, I assume.

As for now, what do you think? We are in love!
