This is NOT a Craving

I have these insatiable cravings for fruit lately. It is undeniably this baby girl's craving, not mine. You see, I am not a fruit-eater AT ALL. At all, folks. I really stick to grapes, pineapples, apples, oranges and mangoes and even those, I rarely eat. I am just not really into fruit.

Now that I've thoroughly drilled THAT into your heads... I made steak, potatoes and corn for dinner tonight and didn't want any of it. It was delicious, don't get me wrong but that smoothie I made was CALLING MY NAME! So I gave 1/2 my potato to my 12 year old, 2/3 of my steak to Joe and finished my 1/4 cup of corn. Then I hastily moved on to my smoothie and it was SO good, I had seconds. Now I'm having apple cider. I could have fruit all day and night, it seems. Baby girl better be a fruit lover cuz if not, I have no clue what this is all about.

Have I told you that Joe's parents are buying baby girl's crib and dresser (also to be used as a changing table). We are SO appreciative!! This was totally unexpected because we had already told everyone that these were two things we intended to buy ourselves because we are being very particular about our style. Does that sound lame? We'd just rather have things we LOVE and that fit our home and style than just get free stuff. That's all. Anyway, have I shown you our crib and dresser yet? I may have but here they are again, just in case.

IKEA Hemnes 8-drawer dresser made into a changing table a la this;

Our scheme is nowhere near this pastel but this is the exact dresser and there will be a changing pad and storage basket on top.

Here is our crib. Again, not even close to our theme but you get the idea with the crib. This crib is the Baby Mod Modena 3-in-1 Convertible crib. Ours will have gray zebra striped sheets, red sheets and other cute sheets. It will NOT have bumpers (not only are they not very safe, but they're just ugly in my opinion). It will also not have a dust ruffle. We're going for a more modern alternative style.

We still haven't settled on a style as a WHOLE but definitely something current, modern, and not too baby-ish. I'm really liking the crib sheets at Target and Babies R Us right now. We put some of these on our registry, too!

That's just a sampling of our ideas. We have black accents in the room but no wall art as of yet. I'm sure baby room pics will be posted once things start coming together better. We still need to find a couple of tall accent tables, a chair and a lamp or two. We also need little decorative accents. I'm gonna scan CB2 and Target for things that may fit in. That's for another day though.
