Seven Weeks

For 7 weeks I have been a mother of two. Two beautiful daughters have kept me so incredibly occupied.

For 5 weeks I have dealt nightly with a baby that has evening-only colic aka a case of the nighttime crankies.

For 7 weeks I have accomplished three 4 hour roundtrips with a nursing baby who doesn't really like her car seat and when traveling or in a busy environment, likes to eat every 1-2 hours.

For 3 weeks I have hoped and wished that the hard part was over, that the crankies would subside a bit and that she would become a baby who loves the car and being around commotion, all the while not getting my wish and gently parenting her despite all of that.

For 7 weeks we have made changes to our family life that have allowed us to live happily with a screaming baby in tow. We are doing this wonderfully and with ease.

For 7 weeks we've seen Miss Nyla Noelle grow and change and be our happy (and sometimes not so happy) new family member.

For 7 weeks we've gone on with life as normally as we can and we have loved every second with this new little girl.

We are all doing great. We are staying active and we are staying sane. Those are huge accomplishments, but if you've ever had kids, you know that.

Here she is... our new star. She is 7 weeks old today.
