What Have We Been Up To?

It's been 5 weeks since I had Nyla Noelle and we've been SO BUSY. I'm trying my best to go on with life and my days as usual but it is virtually impossible, as you can imagine. Nyla has had some bouts of gassiness and evenings-only colic which have made us really work and really appreciate her quiet moments. We're learning as a family that the moment she is fed is the moment we leave the house to get things done or the second she falls asleep, we instantly get to work on laundry, cleaning, showering, etc. I'm lucky if I get a shower every 2 days. Luckily I don't wash my hair every day anyway... but it would still be nice to wash my body every day. Fortunately, I don't do much but care for her these days so it's not like I'm actually getting dirty.

We have been constantly keeping social, even when I'm too tired or don't really feel like leaving the house. I feel this is important as it will get Nyla accustomed to our usual on-the-go lifestyle. I am exclusively breastfeeding so any time we go more than an hour, I'm likely to plan a stop for every two hours. I have also found that the busier we are, the more often she eats. If we take a two hour trip to Disneyland, I will stop every hour to feed her, thus avoiding a newborn meltdown. These are the things we do to keep going, right? Yep!

So with so much going on, it's best to just show you some pics. I've also managed to find time to change up my hair. It's important to look your best so you can feel your best, especially as a new mom. Thankfully my mom came over and watched my niece and Nyla while me and my niece's mom did my hair.

You see it right. Half black, hair red... and now with bangs. (I will be cutting the bangs just above the eyebrow tomorrow...I don't like them this long.)

This one was taken today.

We've been on a beer kick... we share one new beer per night.

And this was yesterday...
Also yesterday. All dressed up but it didn't last. The socks were kicked off and the headband slid off.

Baby loves her daddy. (Last weekend)

My oldest daughter collecting her tack from the ranch she rides at because they are selling their horses and moving. This was a VERY sad day for all... horses are her passion.

My other half got a new toy for off-roading. This was much to my protest but I finally gave in an got over it.

I altered the bangs a bit... left room to grow and they no longer touch my glasses which is ideal for me.

And finally... we tried this baby and really loved it. I'm going to try dipping Madeline cookies in it for a delicious dessert treat.
