Maybe THIS Year?

WOW, I came to see how long it's actually been since I blogged. It's been a long time. Things have changed so much over the last year. Maybe THIS year I can blog? Just maybe. The little one is one and a half now and actually lets me do things alone for bout 30 minutes a day. That is a huge accomplishment for us. This could work!

I have some news. I'm expecting yet again. A girl AGAIN! We are thrilled! Having another girl so close to the last baby means that we literally have almost everything we need. We'll be purchasing a good Baby Jogger City Select double stroller, of course, but as far as gear, we're set. As for everything else we need, those things are so minimal, they'll cost very little over time. Nursing pads, baby wipes, Lansinoh, diaper cream. Just little essentials. We still cloth diaper, of course and we love it. It saves us trips to the store and plenty of money. We have invested in a few newborn sized diapers and can I just express my love for how damn adorable they are?! They're TINY. Teeny tiny. It's hard to believe we'll have a newborn in the house again, come May. We are almost done converting our office into the new baby's room. It only took a few days and only decorative touches are left but when we moved here in January 2014, we didn't expect that we'd use that room for a new baby so soon but the time was right and we decided sooner was better than later.

This pregnancy has been far less traumatic than the last one was. I had steady, all-day-long sickness until around 15 weeks or so (I amd 24 weeks, 3 days now), then all of a sudden, it dropped off. Since then, it's about every three days that I wake up sick and it tends to subside after morning, except for the occasional day where it turns to an all-day migraine from hell. Those days are really hard on me because caring for a toddler in the dark all day just isn't realistic. But none of the other issues that terrorized my other two pregnancies, so I can't complain.

We also added a new puppy to the family. He is rambunctious. He's only about 6 months old though, so I'm certain he'll grow out of it. His name is Moose, he came with that name and it just sort of stuck. It really suits him. He is a mutt that resembles a German Shepherd. Moose loves to run and jump and chew. Ugh, the chewing. That is the the worst thing about puppies. Having a multitude of things that he's allowed to chew on does not stop him from gnawing on things like our couch, our baseboards, our other dog Otis. Luckily, Otis is quite tolerant and is teaching Moose the ways of the house. Moose is easily crated and follows Otis when we want them to go outside during dinner or if we have company. They are both rather large dogs and like to sit on the couch next to people so we try not to encourage that. It works sometimes.

I am still a stay at home mom which I am grateful to be able to do. It does cause some cabin fever sometimes but I'm used to working and being out of the house, even if I've been off work since February 2013. That sounds so much longer than I realized but I was off on disability for being so sick during my pregnancy since then. The baby wasn't even born until July 2013. There are days when Joe comes home and I've had a bad or sick day and I'm just like "take her, I need to go shower". He is wonderful with her and so helpful and understands that sometimes you just need to not be around people for 30 minutes. Such is mom life, right? hehe For the most part, it's fun and exciting. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend their days making cloud dough so your little one can play with it while you clean? OK, maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I LOVE me so me-time to scrub the house clean. I love cleaning. It's a sickness. It might be, actually. But it's the best kind. hehe

Alright, I'm setting a reminder on my calendar to blog a couple times a week. Joe and I have a time exchange agreement that works like this-he gets to go riding on Sundays for (usually) 3-4 hours and then I bank the same amount of hours to use for free time for myself. That is child-free! It's fair, but I've not used it and I've accumulated almost 20 hours already. I'm going to force myself to take my time. It's good to do things that don't involve your kids or even your significant other and I REALLY forget to do that. This took me about 20 minutes and I feel accomplished for even logging in. I've been meaning to do so for SO SO LONG! Now I'll have that reminder...
