Good Thing Our Bed is Comfy

This blog is late and I skipped last week entirely, I know. I got a horrible cold, lost my voice, had a throat made of fire and a nose like a faucet. It was just the worst! I don't get sick much so if I do I'm not happy about it at all. Being 26 weeks pregnant (now 27 weeks and still sick!) it was even worse. And to add insult to injury, my 19 month old was just as sick. Oy. It couldn't have been less fun really. Luckily, she is better and I'll probably be better by the end of this week.

So, nothing at all happened last week that wasn't lying in bed, feeling like death and coughing til I vomited. Moving right along to THIS week...

Today I had a prenatal doctor appointment at 9am. I was late (which is against my religion, if I had one) by 15 minutes because I slept in and then I was sick. I called at let them know I was late but on my way and they were fine with it. At the appointment I found out that I failed the 1 hour glucose test I took last Friday and that I now have to take the 3 hour fasting glucose test. I have a feeling that it was a fluke and I just failed because I had been throwing up everything I'd eat. This happened with my last pregnancy as well and I passed the 3 hour test with flying colors. We'll see. I'm not eating horribly or cramming sweets down my throat so we'll see what happens. I really never get 3 hours to myself absolutely alone so I'll take it. It may not be the perfect circumstances to get a break but it's a break nevertheless.

Joe's mom and sister are throwing me a baby shower and we have set the date for May 2nd. Yes, that is just 15 days before my due date and yes I will be willing this baby to stay put until at least May 3rd. I have a registry set up at Babies R Us as well as a PlumFund for the stroller, which is the only large item we need. Actually, it's really the only thing at ALL that we need. You may be thinking "What about diapers?!" or "You'll need crib sheets, burp cloths, sleep gowns and tiny socks". Nope, we don't. Having a baby that is due to be born just 22 months after the last one gives us a huge advantage, especially because they're both girls. The only things we've actually needed to buy are newborn size cloth diapers. And since we've used cloth since the last baby was tiny, we don't need to purchase more. We've purchased plenty along the way. Enough to allow us to diaper two at a time in cloth. It. Is. AWESOME. We will need baby wipes but we already buy those so there will be some here anyway.

We bought a used sofa. We just bought a brand new 3-piece sectional a little over a year ago. Then we got a puppy and he's a puppy so he chews things. Things like basically brand new sectionals. Since the sectional was purchased for our previous home, it is actually really big for our current, smaller living room. I'm kind of excited to switch it out for the new sofa and big comfy leather tub chair. I am also very excited to get that huge and bulky leather chair out of the new baby's room. Our bedrooms are too small for that monster chair. There is already a crib and a couch in that room and that's enough! Plus can I just express my undying love for a rearranged room?! Are you with me on this? It's just... it completes my life. It makes me so so happy!

So now that I'm happy and almost not dead, things are looking up and MAYBE there will even be a Thursday blog. And it might even be on time, too. I'm really trying here.
