Sick Kids

This week has been very uneventful. Both of my girls were sick and today, voila, me too! It's just a basic cold but it's not fun. Cough, sore throat, low-grade fever, faucet nose, the works. My oldest was only sick for a day and a half but my little one has been sick for three days now. It's really difficult to deal with a one and a half year old who CAN communicate but can't communicate how she feels when she's sick. She's only been sick once before, about a year ago. She has no idea why she is feeling sick and especially how to help herself. Every single thing I offer her, she cries and screams no. About half the time, she actually does want whatever it is I'm offering and then she gets mad that I'm taking it away because she said no. Oh the joys of being a mom... or dad, if you're the primary caretaker for your family.

Outside of being sick, not much has happened around here. I have been stuck in bed with the little one most of the week. She doesn't like anyone else to care for her when she isn't feeling well. I did manage to wash the newborn cloth diapers today. Next up, the actual diaper laundry. Oh how exciting my life is.

It has just been a very uneventful week. Being forced to stay in quarantine for a few days made me think of some stupid things to buy, things to clean my house. And things to do around here.

This. I used to have one of these and I used to clean house for a woman who had 6 indoor cats. This thing was amazing. Now that we have two large dogs, I need to get one. NEED. You can get them here for around $7.00. They can be used over and over.

On the topic of pets and their messy fur, both dogs really need a nail trimming and a full groom to boot. Living in the desert really makes your dogs disgusting. Like, REALLY. We could try to do it ourselves, but it's worth the $100.00 combined to just have the pros do it for us. Worth every single penny. Dogs are gross. hehe

I also decided I HAD TO HAVE the new Rumparooz Diaper Cover in Unity. I bought one in newborn size and one in one-size. I think it'll be adorable to match the two little girls in this cover with a yellow tank top.
